Book It! | Monday, January 20
Celebrate Martin Luther King’s legacy of literacy and volunteer service by helping to build a Little Free Library at the museum, make a bookmark in the Print Shop, recite a poem and write on a slate in the Schoolhouse, make a recycled book, complete mad libs, enjoy a snack during story time with a special guest reader, and more. Campers are encouraged to bring a gently used or new book to donate to the Little Free Library.
Hobby Hunting | Monday, February 17
Sometimes, even presidents need to have fun. Spend President’s Day discovering what presidents past and present have done in their spare time. Play a game of horseshoes just like President Lincoln. Try your hand at tabletop bowling like President Nixon. Examine artifacts like an archaeologist and President Jefferson. Learn to have fun painting like President Bush and President Eisenhower. Try out a favorite presidential recipe and more.
Fire and Ice | Friday, February 28
Join in hot and cold February fun. Visit our blacksmith and learn how they use fire to shape metal. Try on firemen gear and see Naperville’s first pumper up close. Visit the Mansion and see how people in the late 1800s kept their food cold. Learn how to paint on ice and how to preserve it during the ice cube keeper challenge. Play a game of hot potato and more.
