Journey beyond the velvet ropes and enjoy guided, privileged access to areas not open to the general public. Walk in the footsteps once trod by Naperville’s early residents and engage with museum experts about the significance of each of the structures.  In May, tour each level of the 12-room Martin Mitchell Mansion, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and learn first-hand about the building’s history and its importance to the community from Naper Settlement’s museum staff and Chicago preservationist and paint analysis expert Robert A. Furhoff, who oversaw the building’s interior restoration. Ages 13+ only. Includes stair climbing.

Go behind-the-scenes for a curator-led glimpse of the state-of-the-art storage areas where we will show you highlights of our permanent collection. The climate-controlled 23,000-square-foot space is filled with materials that document the rich history of Naperville from its settlement in 1831 up until the present day. No food, beverages, bags or photography permitted. Registration is required and limited to 30 persons. Ages 13+ only.
